Career Services at Henderson Community College is committed to providing assistance in the areas of career counseling and the job search process to students, alumni, and community members. Several forms of assistance are offered. A counselor is available to meet with students/alumni/community members on an individual basis to explore majors/career options and to address personal concerns about the job search process. A self-directed approach to career exploration is also available through FOCUS, a self-paced, online career guidance tool.

Job Search Assistance

Career Services provides job referral for full-time and part-time positions. Information about job opportunities and assistance in securing employment is available to all currently enrolled students, graduates and alumni of HCC. Those interested in this service must complete a registration form and meet with the Career Services Coordinator. Keep in touch with Career Services and check postings on a regular basis. HCC Employability Skills Seminar

An Employability Skills Seminar is offered each fall and spring semester. This eight week, one credit- hour course, focuses on how to conduct an effective job search. Included in this course is information about resume writing, networking, interviewing, and applying for a job. The course is open to anyone, but application to the college and registration for the course is required.

HCC Career Services Lab

Career Services maintains a lab which includes a wide array of resources for individuals seeking career information. A variety of guidebooks are available on topics including resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills and techniques, and job search strategies. Also available in the lab are computers and a laser printer for those wishing to produce a resume or other related documents.
