Audiovisual equipment setup
To request an audiovisual setup, contact John Merrill.The library assists faculty, staff, students and community patrons in using audiovisual equipment when such usage takes place in the library. This assistance involves the setup of the equipment, the demonstration of the equipment, the instruction on how to use the equipment, and the breakdown of the equipment when the patron is finished. Assistance needed by faculty, staff, and students in other HCC buildings will be provided as long as the request(s) is made at least 24 hours in advance. Requests are made by calling (270) 830-5262, or by sending an e-mail message to the Public Relations Assistant responsible for AV setups. Requests made in less than 24 hours are handled on a case-by-case basis. No assistance is available for off-campus setups. Patrons checking out audiovisual equipment assume full responsibility for the proper use, safety, and maintenance of the equipment. They are also responsible for all replacement costs if the equipment is returned in bad condition.Mechanical problems that occur with library-own audiovisual equipment are fixed by library staff when possible. When extensive repairs are needed that are beyond the expertise of library personnel, arrangements will be made by the Director of Library Services to repair the equipment.
Desktop Publishing
Only faculty, staff, and recognized student organizations of HCC are eligible to use the library's desktop publishing services.To request desktop publishing services, contact John Merrill.Signage and brochures used for the purpose of advertising upcoming college events, departmental programs and offerings, and administrative functions is generated by the Public Relations Assistant responsible for Media Services at the direction of the requesting person(s), department, or organization. All desktop publishing activities are done on paper and/or "light card stock." Departments needing extensive 3-dimensional advertising must contact an outside vendor for such services. The library will provide consultation services in such cases.Requested desktop publishing services must be made to the Public Relations Assistant responsible for Media Services at least five working days prior to the date that the product is needed. Requests made in less than five days will be handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Public Relations Assistant. Rejections from this individual are final.To request desktop services, eligible patrons must contact the Public Relations Assistant responsible for Media Services by calling (270) 830-5262, or by sending an e-mail message to him/her. The person(s) requesting the service will be notified by phone or by e-mail when the order is ready.
Binding Services
Media services will bind large documents that have been generated by college faculty, staff, and student organizations upon request. Requests for binding must be made to the Public Relations Assistant responsible for Media Services at least five days before the product is needed. Requests made in less than five days will be handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Public Relations Assistant.
