2000-01 Notable Accomplishments
In addition to working on the performance standards of 2000-01, the library staff pursued other important projects. Some of these efforts resulted in the following accomplishments:
- Funds were obtained from the Partners In Progress Endowment to purchase a new library security system. This new system facilitates easier library access for the physically challenged patrons and is more accurate in detecting library material than the old system.
- Funds were obtained from the Partners In Progress Endowment to purchase a new “automatic door opening” device for physically challenged patrons. This effort helps the library maintain compliance with ADA laws.
- The library reached a new interlibrary loan agreement with the other Kentucky Community College Libraries to provide better information transfer across the state.
- Circulating collections for Nursing, CLT, Medical Assisting, Dental Hygiene, and CIS were weeded to make room for new titles. This effort was motivated in part by the individual accreditation standards of these programs.
- A new laser printer was obtained with the Technology Fee funds to replace one that was frequently not operating.
