We are excited that you are interested in pursuing dental hygiene as your educational and career goal. The dental hygiene program offered by Henderson Community College is a selective admission program. Students are accepted once per year and the program begins in August each year.
The application deadline is March 1 each year. Part of the application process is mandatory attendance at a preadmission conference to learn more about the dental hygiene program and the application process. Preadmission dates are provided in a separate area in this website. If you are unable to physically attend a preadmission conference, an online presentation is available as an option.
It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all necessary application materials are on file in the admissions office and dental hygiene department at Henderson Community College. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
If accepted into the program, you will be required to become certified in Healthcare Provider CPR with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) prior to entering into dental hygiene classes. Proof of certification is required.
If accepted into the program you must also demonstrate computer literacy. This may be accomplished by completing a college credit level course in Introduction to Computers (or an equivalent course accepted for transfer to HCC) or through successful completion of the IC3 computer literacy examination offered at KCTCS institutions.
Good Luck and we look forward to seeing you at Henderson Community College!
