Program Curriculum:
A+ Certificate IT Fundamentals Certificate

Students entering this program will need to have basic computer skills such as would be obtained through the CIS 100 course (Introduction to Computers) or the equivalent.

The A+ and IT Fundamentals Certificate programs prepare students to meet the need for computer technicians in today’s industry. Students will learn software and hardware maintenance as well as the fundamentals behind computer operations.
Upon completion of the A+ or IT Fundamentals Certificate, graduates will be qualified to sit for one or more of the industry-recognized exams leading to either the A+ Certification (A+ program and IT Fundamentals program) or the Net+ Certification (IT Fundamentals).

A+ Certificate

The A+ Certificate is designed for individuals already in the workforce who wish to receive specific training in building computers and troubleshooting computer problems. The courses within the certificate program will assist those already in the workforce to advance to positions dealing with computer repair. At the completion of the coursework, the student will have obtained the skills necessary to take the A+ Certification Exam. The certificate program is designed to allow students to continue toward completion of the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Information Technology.

IT Fundamentals Certificate

The IT Fundamentals Certificate is designed for people already in the workforce who wish to receive additional training in the fundamentals of information technology. The IT Fundamentals Certificate program offers students a wide variety of instruction such as Hardware and Software Maintenance, Database Design, and Computer Applications. The Information Technology Certificate is designed to allow students to continue toward completion of the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Information Technology.
